Newest Release
We're extremely excited about the newest release of Frame
Thrower software. By incorporating feedback from our customers, we've
made Frame Thrower more powerful while still keeping it easy to
use. This will page will highlight some of the features from the
latest Frame Thrower release.
Data Retrieval
Although Frame Thrower focuses on play back of your
content for quality control, approval, client presentations, our
clients wanted a means of retrieving meta data from Frame
Thrower. We've added the ability to view an MPEG proxy of your clips
from the web interface and the ability to save all the changes made
during a playback session into a play list which can be retrieved as
an XML file.
Menus
Several changes have been made to the menus used during
playback. Making the background of the menus transparent makes more of
the image visible. Menus now automatically open their submenus as the
user moves the cursor. That makes it easy to see what functions are
available in each menu. Finally, checkmarks have been added to clearly
indicate which menu items have been selected.
Gates
The interface for creating gates has been simplified. It's now
easy to create the gates you want and add interior markings.
Detail Tool
The detail tool allows the user to select a region of the
screen to zoom and provides numerical values for the region.
Play list editing
A major request from our users was the ability to create and
modify playlists from the play back interface. The new play list
editor provides that functionality.
Comparing Clips
Comparing different versions of a clip is a critical aspect of
reviewing content. The new compare functionality allows users to view
a pair of clips side by side, as a picture in a picture, with a wipe
between the two clips, or with one clip mirrored next to the other.

Slates
Frame Thrower now has handling for slates. They can be the
first frame of the clip or be generated automatically from the
metadata stored in Frame Thrower.
Overlays/Masks
Users may now create their own overlays and masks that are
placed over the images during playback.
And more
That's just the highlights of the release. It also
includes:
- Image loading is faster and more flexible.
- OpenEXR, JPEG, and JPEG2000 file formats are now
supported.
- The web interface has been simplifiedf and improved.
- Plus many other small improvements too numerous to
mention.
